I really want to make a new navigation menu.
And I will. Like totally different. The one I currently use is just so… ugly :/. I want to make it on the top of the page, Like it sliding down when you hover. I don’t want to say too much yet, since I have just a small idea of what it’s going to be like. Just wanted to post this. schart.net may be buggy or weird the next day or two (or maybe just a couple of hours, who knows) for designing the navigation.
Private snippets, and some more updates!
I’ve been working a lot on snippets today. As you probably know, you can (could) simply go to /download.php?id= or /preview.php?id= and put something random after ID and maybe end up going to someone’s snippet. Although Snippets was made to be shared, I also think you should be able to use them for whatever you might like, be it private lists, work-in-progress or (although not recommended) sensitive information. So I’ve added a “private” function, which basically hides your snippet from anywhere but the editor. You can’t preview, download or view the snippet on “Browse Snippets” or the stream if it is private, and only you can open it in the editor. (If you are wondering, the editor checks if it is your snippet before opening it, so there is no way that other people can open your snippet in their editor as far as I know). Not a massive update, but I think it was pretty necessary. If you have any further questions about privacy or want to report bugs, give feedback or just leave me a message, contact me at email@example.com
- New link transitions and animations
- Updated post page
- Fixed Tweetify
- Preview now opens in new tab instead of popup
- Fixed small design bugs on “Browse Snippets”
Maybe I should rename Browse Snippets to Snippet Market or something like that.. Hmm..
Changelog 16.11.13 and Planned Updates
- Recently changed index look
- /#register and /#login now brings up respective windows
- Added captcha to register form
- Added comment counts on stream
- New delete post animation on stream
- Fixed hashtags, links and mentions when loading new page on stream
- New edit and delete buttons
- Made “preview” and “download” on snippets
- Apps are now going to be integrated into Snippets
- Fixed several small bugs to make the website more solid and stable
Lots of small updates this time! I have focused on making the website more stable, but I’ve also sneaked in a couple of new animations and design changes. Captcha was a must at some point, so I figured I might as well add it right away. The index change was also a must, considering the old one had no info or teasers. Still not quite happy with the design so I will defiantly fix it up more later. Have kind of been out of it lately, so it was great to really get some work done.
I want to make a new “app” or part of the site where people can write or link to interesting articles. This is because I want to expand on the idea of a network made for designers and developers, a “homepage” for them. Making them stop by to check out code snippets, apps, recent updates, articles and stuff like that. I might need to rework the stream later if I get more members but for now this is my next step; making the article thingy. Remember, you can post feedback and stuff to The Schart Network, I am currently reading all the posts that are posted there. If you want to get more personal, you can of course send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or a message at Buddyweb.me
Planned updates/To-do list 8/11/13
- Customise profile background
- Fix edit & delete button on profiles
- Make better menubar interface
- Work on Apps

Changelog 28.10.13 and planned updates
I have been working on being able to publish and browse published snippets without having to go through your stream, so now you can. I have also added lots of icons (from fontello.com) on buttons and links etc.
I want to add something much like snippets but more like apps, so basically you can create a little web app/website and publish the on schart.net. I guess it’s like snippets with preview and actually rendered code instead of just for reading purposes. This will also of course need some sort of browsing place.
Changelog 25.10.13 and planned changes
Fixed autoload on profiles and stream, added a edit functionality and fixed the insert bug. Haven’t really fixed very much in the JS. Also added custom scrollbars (atleast in webkit browsers) so it looks better. Will look into an alternative to hide/style the scrollbar for mozilla etc.
Like/dislike/point system on posts. Fixing up the text on posts. Add a showcase/browse place for snippets.
Changelog 23.10.13 (and planned changes)
First of all I want to say thank you to the alpha testers! Great tips and feedback, and also by staying active I have noticed errors I otherwise wouldn’t have noticed.
The past few days, I’ve been doing quite a lot of changes revolving around the social aspect of the site. I have fixed some stream and notification problems, added a bit more functionality to the post page and I have added pages as well as a delete post button to the stream.
I want to fix more on the posts. First of all, as suggested by yitzy, I want to be able to edit the posts. I also need to fix some insert problems when updating (currently, you can add codes to it without them being decoded. Scary stuff). I’m also going to add pages to the profile stream, and try to make the jQuery and JS more organised and fast.
Keep sending me tips and criticism, it helps a lot!
