  1. The Schart Network - Beta

Awesome news! I’m working on redesigning the whole website again! The current design is named Alpha, because the website is/was alpha while using it. I’m now moving on to beta! I will make the code cleaner, faster and the website better looking. I wasn’t really happy about the alpha design from the second day it was published so I’m very excited about finally doing this! Here’s a preview:

  2. Our Previous Logos

    First Logo

    Second Logo

    Third logo

And this URL will always be the current one:

    Current Logo

What I like about the new (third) one is that it fits basically anywhere. Light background, dark background, wooden background pattern and so on. Also it’s really good looking

  3. main.css

I made a new stylesheet or framework. This is one I’ve been wanting to do for ages. It’s basically a starter stylesheet. It has better looking links, headers, tables and form objects. I kind of want to expand it though and make more of these. Version one, which is already available at Market, is all the basic stuff but I want to do this for more objects.

  4. Lots of updates

It’s been a while since I’ve written a blog post. I’ve been doing a lot of small work here and there and some big changes! First of all, I changed the background back to normal again. It wasn’t pretty being white-ish. Also, I’ve made the footer a bit prettier by making it stick to the bottom of the main container. Also I’ve made a completely new homepage for non-logged in users. It gives the user time to check out the site and see things for him/her-self before registering. Also, it’s sexy.

I’ve also done some experimenting with Notes. I made a small non-logged in version, which uses HTML5’s localStorage to save the notes. This basically means that it’s only on that computer, and it’s not permanent like the full version of Notes is. Also, the full version of Notes stores the notes to the user’s account, and makes it available anywhere as long as there is internet connection. Also, I made a new favicon for Notes. It’s not very pretty, might make a new one in the future.

Some small changes at Answers as well. I’ve made “Correct Answer” into “Favourite Answer” instead, and you can only have one favourite answer now. I’ve also made a new icon for Answers, so that all my sites don’t use the same favicon. Same as with Notes, I’m not very happy with it so I might just make a new one in a little while. Also, you can edit the questions in Answers now. A known bug there is that new lines don’t always work when editing the question. It’s weird, I’ve yet to come up with an explanation of this.

There are of course small changes everywhere as well, such as new icons on Market, new category on Market (Templates), as well as comments being counted at the homepage as well. Oh, and lots of new Market submissions, one of which is user-submitted. The user-submitted is a Javascript library called Methods.js, you should check it out. The maker even has a profile on The Schart Network. Also, I posted an old app, as well as a couple of templates. Also, I’ve put my first paid template up on Market, so if you want to support me in any way, go ahead and buy that (it’s pretty cool) :)

  8. Things are looking great

I feel very happy with the way The Schart Network acts and looks right now. With the new newsfeed and profiles, the social aspect has become more finished than it ever was. Now I need to focus on making more apps and frameworks, because I know that is the main attraction. As a note, I now have over 90 members! Granted, about 3 or 4 of them are testing accounts and some are probably robots ( :( ) , but still, 80-85 real members is a lot more than I ever imagined for a small playground of a website. Thank you all.

  9. Profile Design Competition

For those of you who didn’t know, we have a profile design competition! There are currently 4 entries, and they all look great in their own ways! Luckily I have a few different categories so it won’t be to difficult to judge who’s the best.  Colourful, Simple and best in general. I have a custom design on my profile as well, but I will of course not be taking part in the competition. Anyways, you can join in by making a custom design on your profile, and submitting in the comments here! :)
